A Relaxing Weekend in Limoges: Food and Fun

Journal Sat 29th/Sun 30th Nov 2025

Morning all. Headed into Limoges today with Craig and my lovely MIL for a wander and some lunch. All the lights are up in Limoges and the beginnings of the warren of little xmas chalets for the street markets are in place. We wandered Rue du Boucherie to my favourite couple of shops where I just want everything, but need absolutely nothing. Bought some big red velvet bows for wreaths for the door when I actually get round to making them, and some elf slippers complete with jingly bells which are driving both the cats and the husband mad in equal measure. Good old Flying Tiger.

Accidentally spent 29 euros on Earl Grey in the posh tea shop because it turns out 200g is a lot……

Lunch was at Le Bureau which is on the outskirts of town, a sort of French take on a pub, but draft Guinness for the win, and as ever an exceptional burger. The star of the show remains the pepper sauce though, I would bathe in it given the chance.

A quick trip to Truffaut to peruse their xmas decorations, only to leave with 3 more houseplants that I didn’t need and have nowhere to put.

Journal Sunday 30th November 2025

You know one of those Sundays where you kind of don’t get up. Returned to bed with coffee and toast, watched a documentary about the Louvre heist, and then the UFO Documentary that’s just been released called the Age of Disclosure. Highly recommended and extremely compelling viewing my friends.

Got up at about 3pm, and made the chicken and beans and white wine thingy I should have made during the week but couldn’t be bothered. Was delish.

Settled down to blitz some new Netflix True Crime, blankets, cat, bag of chocolate snails. Absolutely cracking day, 10/10 would recommend.
